GARY WILLIAM FRIEDMAN (Composer, Arrangements and Orchestrations) is the composer of the OBIE award-winning, Tony-nominated musical The Me Nobody Knows. Other Broadway/off Broadway credits include Platinum, Taking My Turn (featured on PBS Great Performance Series) and Sheba. His orchestral and choral works have been commissioned and performed at venues such as the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Lancaster Music Festival, where his ballet Puss 'n Boots will be performed this summer. As Music Director for TV's "The Electric Company", he wrote numerous songs including the popular "Spider Man Theme Song." He and singer-lyricist Stevie Holland created 150 MUSIC, a record label for which he has produced and arranged several critically acclaimed pop/jazz recordings. Current projects include Teddy, a jazz-operatic fable about a bear in the wild life (workshopped at Amas) and Dream Mountain, a musical about Gutzon Borglum, the great sculptor man who carved Mt. Rushmore.
EDWARD GALLARDO (Lyrics) Born and raised in the South Bronx, Edward has worked with such notables as Harold Prince, Joseph Papp, Miriam Colon, Rita Moreno and Rob Marshall. He is currently writing the book for Casanova Returns, based on the Argento opera (lyrics by Sarah Schlesinger, music by Grammy Award-winner Mike Reid) which was recently chosen to showcase at the Global Musical Theatre Festival in Cardiff, Wales. Dramas include the award-winning Simpson Street and Women Without Men; book and lyrics for Selena Forever (original music by Fernando Rivas), Carmen Libre (music by George Bizet, Gala performance co-produced by Coconut Grove Theatre and the Greater Miami Opera), and Fantasma (a street-opera with music by Marc Allen Trujillo), book for The Petrified Prince, (music by Michael John LaChiusa); lyrics and dramaturg for The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz (music by Gary William Friedman), "Over a Barrel", four episodes for the PBS series, Ghostwriter.
STEVEN M. JACOBSON (Author) is the author of three one-act plays, one of which was produced by Joseph Papp (Anspacher Theater), directed by Ted Cornell, another produced by Edward Albee (Playwrights Unit) directed by Robert Moss, and a third ran at the Astor Place Theatre, also directed by Robert Moss. Steve wrote the book for the musical Dream Mountain, with composer Gary William Friedman, and lyricist Will Holt. He has written several screenplays, one in collaboration with Jason Liberatore, Mob Ties, which they recently completed and is hot to go.
STEVIE HOLLAND (Additional Lyrics) is a critically acclaimed, award winning vocalist and lyricist in the worlds of jazz and cabaret. Her recent recordings include Restless Willow and More Than Words Can Say, both of which charted on radio stations across the country. She has collaborated with Gary William Friedman on several albums and projects which include anthems and theme songs that have been used in documentary films and national broadcast radio shows. |
